Heliconia is also known as the Loster Claw plant due to its flowers looking like the legs or claws of a lobster or known as the false Bird of Paradise. This unique plant takes part shade to full sun and while it does enjoy well drained soil it can handle moist soil during its growing season. They can grown 3-15ft high and spread 2-6ft wide. They are a perennials and their zones are 10 & 11.
